Winter Weather Returns to Arkansas

Little Rock, Ark. – Less than two weeks after a winter storm caused some 30,000 ice-related outages across Arkansas, Entergy Arkansas, Inc. is dealing with another round of wintry weather.

As of late Monday afternoon, Entergy Arkansas is reporting 13,000 power outages. The bulk of those outages are in the Little Rock and Hot Springs area.

The largest numbers of remaining outages are in:
Little Rock - 5,500
Maumelle - 3,800
Hot Springs - 3,600

Tree limbs have become heavy with the wet snow and may fall onto our power lines. Entergy Arkansas is asking customers to stay way from any low or downed power lines and do not remove any tree limbs from your yard or fence. Downed power lines may be energized and are extremely dangerous.

All customers without power are asked to call1-800-9OUTAGE.

Entergy Arkansas has requested that its sister companies in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, as well as out of state contract utility workers, be ready to travel Tuesday morning should weather conditions cause significant outages. The National Weather Service in Little Rock is predicting 4 to 8 inches of wet snow throughout the state until the system clears the area tomorrow.

Entergy Arkansas, Inc. provides electricity to almost 684,000 customers in 63 counties. Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Entergy owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, and it is the second-largest nuclear generator in the United States. Entergy delivers electricity to 2.7 million utility customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
