The CoolSaver Air Conditioning program can help you improve the efficiency and performance of your air conditioner or heat pump. A technician will evaluate the cooling performance of your equipment, and, if called for, recommend improvements. You can then receive discounts from Entergy to help pay for the recommended improvements. Your air conditioner consists of many parts that must all work together properly to deliver the cooling and efficiency that you expect, and may benefit from cleaning or improvements to some or all of these components. Examples of improvements eligible for program discounts include the professional cleaning of condenser coils, evaporator coils, and blowers, and precision adjustment of refrigerant charge.

Am I eligible?

All homeowners, renters, and business customers of Entergy Arkansas, Inc. with central air conditioners up to 25 tons are eligible to participate.

How will this program help me?

Participants can receive discounts, from their contractor, off energy-saving improvements identified by the CoolSaver evaluation. Typical CoolSaver improvements to air conditioners result in less energy consumption, lower energy bills, and greater comfort and humidity control. Efficiency improvements above 30% are common in the program.

How does the program work?

Have a CoolSaver evaluation done by a participating contractor using specified tools and procedures. The CoolSaver evaluation identifies energy-saving improvement opportunities. You will be eligible to receive discounts of $25 each, up to $75 total. See the list below for energy efficiency improvements that qualify.

What discounts are available for making energy-efficiency improvements to my air conditioner?

Professionally clean blower assembly: $25;

Professionally clean evaporator coil: $25;

Add or remove refrigerant to proper level: $25.

If all three measures are completed, total possible discount is $75.

What does the program cost?

The participating contractors set their own prices for their services. The customer’s cost will be the contractor’s invoice minus the value of any applicable discounts, which could be as much as $75 off.

Contractor Information

Contractors sign an agreement and order the required tools. The agreement specifies eligibility and program requirements. Technicians are professionally trained to conduct CoolSaver evaluations and perform system efficiency improvements. Contractors receive training on best practices, discounts on high-quality tools, and cash incentives to conduct the CoolSaver tune-ups.
