In 1980, White Bluff Unit 1, located near Redfield, Arkansas, became the first coal-fired unit to produce electricity in Arkansas. White Bluff Unit 2 began commercial operation in 1981. Together the two units make up White Bluff Plant, which has provided safe, low-cost and reliable power for over 30 years. Employees and contractors at White Bluff maintain a strong presence within the community throughout Jefferson County and the surrounding areas.
