Remote control for your wells plus cost control for your accounts.
Receive cash-back incentives through the Agricultural Irrigation Load Control Program.
You can save an average of $100 per pump on your Entergy Arkansas metered well pump accounts this summer by helping us manage peak power usage. You will also be able to control your irrigation pumps from a computer, smartphone or tablet throughout the growing season.
At no cost to you, we install the new control hardware. Your end of the bargain is simply allowing Entergy to power off your participating wells during peak demand months of June through August. These interruptions are restricted to weekdays, for up to four hours. Typically, power-offs happen much less frequently. In 2020, interruptions only occurred on four days through the entire summer and only three days in 2019.
How does the program work?
For participating, we will mail you an incentive payment check each month for the total load you enroll in the program. Based on the horsepower of the pump motor, here is the incentive schedule:
On average, you can save approximately $100 on the monthly base bill for each participating metered well pump account.
Entergy will install load control device to enable remote control. This technology not only lets Entergy power down the wells when needed -- but also gives you the ability to turn wells on and off from your computer, smartphone or tablet. There is no additional cost to you for installation or usage.
You may sign up one or all your pumps. The program can begin interruptions on the first week day in June of each year and last through the end of August. You will receive your month payments for the pumps on the program approximately two weeks following the end of the month.
That's all there is to it. You simply agree to periodic power interruptions to your wells, and you get the cash incentives each program month and remote control access. And by helping us control peak demand, it helps keep base costs low for all Entergy Arkansas customers.
The AILC Program is approved by the Arkansas Public Service Commission.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the payment calculated?
The payment is based on rated horsepower of the pump motors on the program. At the end of each month, the total number of pumps enrolled for the entire month is calculated. A check will be sent to you within about two weeks from Entergy's program agent, Connected Energy, Inc.
What is the payment schedule? Monthly payments, based on the rated horsepower of the pump motor, are as follows:
How does the remote switching work?
Farmers participating in the AILC Program can use the same technology Entergy Arkansas uses to remotely control their irrigation wells. Farmers will have access to a secure website where they can register any participating and active irrigation well for remote control by a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Once well registration is complete, the participant can log into the site with the username and password and select any registered well to be either turned on or off. If the well fails to connect or disconnect for whatever reason, a failure message will display on the website. If you get this message, call 1-855-664-FARM (3276). During nights, weekends and holidays, call 1-800 9OUTAGE (1-800-968-8243). Please note: remote control access will not be available during the hours of load control interruption. Otherwise, you can manage your well's operation at anytime during the growing season.
Am I eligible for this voluntary program?
All Entergy Arkansas customers receiving electric service with the Agriculture Water Pumping Service Tariff are eligible.
Are there any installation fees?
There are no installation fees. To participate, you must allow Entergy Arkansas contractor's access to the motor control panel.
Why is Entergy Arkansas offering this program?
We want to help customers save money and also reduce the total "peak load" -- the amount of electricity required to serve all our customers during the weekday periods of summer afternoons. As seen in previous years, reducing peak load benefits all of our customers.
Have participating farmers been satisfied with your program?
Yes. We polled 75 farmers at the end of the 2010 season. More than 75 percent expressed complete satisfaction. More than 90 percent plan to stay on the program.
What happens if I choose to terminate the program before the three months are over?
You may end your participation for a specific well or for all your wells by calling 1-855-664-FARM (3276). But if you do, your payments will end for the month in which you terminate and all subsequent months.
What if something goes wrong with the meter or the switching controls?
Installation and maintenance is Entergy Arkansas' responsibility. During business hours, call 1-855-664-FARM (3276). During nights, weekends and holidays, call 1-800 9OUTAGE (1-800-968-8243).
Will my pumps come on automatically after a daily interruption?
Many pumps will. The switch is a disconnect device, and your pump will experience a total outage during daily interruptions. You will need to check with your pump service provider to determine if your motor control can be set to automatically turn the pump on when the disconnect device restores service.
What if I learn my pumps cannot be turned off as frequently as described after I have joined the program?
We understand your farm is your first priority. This is why the AILC Program allows customers to terminate program participation in writing anytime during the program period. But if you do, your payments will end for the month in which you terminate and all subsequent months. Unless equipment removal is specifically requested, the equipment will remain and be switched for local operation only, thereby disabling all remote control functions.
